Road Clean Up

Saturday, September 22, will be the annual Fall Road Clean-Up. A reminder to all cadets that this event is mandatory. Showtime for all cadets is 8:30 AM. Flight Commanders and Flight Sergeants showtime will be 8:15 along with group leaders. The uniform will be the PT shirt tucked into appropriate pants, a belt, and close-toed shoes. Males must have their hair cut and females must have their hair up. Cadets are reminded that they are not to have their phones out during the road clean up as it is a red zone. All cadets are required to stay until 10 AM; however, we will have a cookout until 12 PM, noon. Cadets who will be staying for food with the following last names are asked to bring the corresponding items for the cookout:

All Flight Commanders should review the "Road Clean-up Cadet Briefing" power-point in the Cadet Resource Center with their respective flights. 

Aviation Academy Applications

If you are working on your application for the Aviation Academy, delay that for now.  HQs AFJROTC is changing the application and will be sending out a new version very soon.  Once we have it, we'll forward it to you and set a new deadline for submission.  See Maj Suydam if you have questions.

Aviation Expo

This year we will Attend the Leesburg Aviation Expo on 26 Oct 2018.  This is a Field Trip during the school day.  Any Juniors or Seniors interested in going on this field trip can sign up in Port 5 starting Cougar A on Monday, 17 Sep.  This trip is limited to 30 cadets, and the instructors will make the final selections.

Kitty Hawk Air Society Applications


Applications to join Kitty Hawk Air Society are now available to upperclassmen cadets in the cadet resource center. All applications must be turned into the KHAS mailbox (including unofficial transcript) no later than Friday, September 21st. All upperclassmen cadets meeting the 3.4 cumulative GPA requirement are encouraged to apply. Panel reviews will be conducted during the week of September 24th-28th. Once your application has been received you will be sent a letter to schedule an appointment during Cougar Hour for your panel review. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your application or panel review feel free to contact the KHAS Commander, Michelle Wunder, at 571-271-8879.


The ASVAB has been scheduled to be administered at Jefferson High School on 25 Sep 2018.  Cadets must be in grades 10-12 to take the ASVAB.  If you would like to take the ASVAB, you may sign up in the Counseling Office.

Honor Guard

Honor Guard will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  If you have any questions please contact the Honor Guard Commander, Mark Daffron.

Service Academy Nominations

Any Cadet who is seeking Congressman Mooney's Nomination for a Service Academy must have their application submitted to his office no later than Oct 19, 2018.

Academy Day 2018

Senator Shelley Moore Capito will sponsor Academy Day 2018.  Anyone interested in learning more about the process for applying for a Service Academy should plan to attend this highly informative meeting to be held at Jefferson High School on September 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM.  See the Flyer in the Cadet Resource Center for more details.
