JHS Renaissance announces December honors

JHS Renaissance Club would like to congratulate the following Cougars who have been nominated as Students of the Month for December: Michelle Wunder, Hannah Carr, Anna Lynch, Matthew Nace, Elizabeth Scott, Evangeline Bray, Lydia Reilly, and Madeleine Absher. This month’s Staffulty of the Month is Ms. Devon Pearrell. The Student and Staffulty of the Month bulletin board will be updated by the end of the week, so make sure to stop by to see more information on these amazing Cougars.

Rushizky named Jostens Renaissance Student of the Month

 Katerina Rushizky, a JHS senior, has been selected as Jostens' Renaissance Student of the Month for December.  Katerina is the current JHS Renaissance president, and was president last academic year. She attended the Jostens Renaissance National Conference in July 2018 with two other students and JHS staffulty. Katerina is dedicated to spreading positivity throughout JHS and

JHS students help fill Boxes for a Purpose

JHS student groups present donations to the Charles Town Police Department as part of Boxes for a Purpose

Students from Jefferson High School's National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Renaissance Club donated enough items to fill 80 boxes for Boxes for a Purpose. Pictured above, Tabitha Sponaugle (left), Abby Carter, Laura Cifala, Amanda Biller and Kayla Welsh, dropped off donations to Chief Chris Kutcher at the Charles Town Police Department. Boxes for a Purpose, a West Virginia campaign, provides fun Christmas Eve presents for foster children in West Virginia. JHS students packaged pajamas, blankets, stuffed animals, hot chocolate, popcorn, Christmas movies and books for foster children.
