VSU players visit the JHS girls basketball team

Virginia State University's womens basketball team visited JHS on Thursday, Nov. 7 to meet with players during practice. The team was in town to compete at Shepherd University during the weekend.

French honor society inducts new members


Jefferson High School's French National Honor Society (FNHS) would like to congratulate new members on their induction on Sept. 30. Special thanks go out to FNHS sponsor Madame deBuchananne and officers on coordinating a lovely ceremony and reception. New Inductees include: William Coltrin, Ally Pierce, Annabella Chiavolla, Caroline Myers, Doi NSang, and Thomas deBuchananne. Continuing members include: Ella Adams,  James Fisher (president), Izzy O'Bannion, and Jenna Weber.

Theatre students earn national recognition

Jefferson's most dedicated theatre arts students have been induction into the International Thespian Society, the honor society for secondary school theatre students. Each Thespian inductee has completed over 100 hours of excellent work in theater arts and related disciplines. The honorary class of 2020 includes Stephanie Bresnan, Claudia DiLima, James Fisher, Madison Malin, Scout Purdy, Madelyn Wachter, Katie Cisar, Connor Gibbons, Max Hawley, Alexia Mabe, Amanda Pastora, and Sikara Sokel. The honorary class of 2021 includes Andrew David, Wilhelm Haussman, Sofija Lotze, Katherine Turner, and Drew Craig. Also, the honorary class of 2022 includes Isabella Runion, Elizabeth Scott, and Kalin Spencer.
