SUMMER BAND 2018

Band Registration:
We will have a mandatory meeting for the parents of all new members on Tuesday, March 13th at 6:30 p.m. in the JHS Band Room. All paperwork will need to be completed by this date so that I can reserve a spot for your child in our customized field show drill. Please email me at jplynch@k12.wv.us if you are unable to attend this meeting. You may also contact me at 304-725-8491, ext 6015 with any questions or concerns.

Paperwork:
We have included many files for your information: the 2018 Summer Schedule, the Personal Information Sheet, the 2018 Summer Band Letter, the JHS Band Handbook, the JHS Band Handbook Signature Page and the Band Health Form. Please submit a completed Personal Information Sheet, Band Handbook Signature Page and Band Health Form to me the night of March 13th.

Band Fees due by July 12th:

Total: $295.00 (Non-Refundable!!!)

SUMMER REHEARSAL GUIDELINES Rehearsals begin July 10th. Please see the JHS Band calendar for details. Students should bring their instruments, pencils, tennis shoes and their music.

Uniform Fittings

Brass and Woodwinds (and Percussion if desired) report for uniform fittings during the following times:
Juniors and Seniors: Wednesday, July 11, 11:30am-1pm

Sophomores: Thursday, July 12, 11:30am-1pm

Freshman Girls: Tuesday, July 17, 11am-1pm

Freshman Boys: Thursday, July 19, 11am-1pm

Makeups: Please come to another scheduled uniform fitting time or see Mrs. Elliott after rehearsal

*Percussion students may be fitted for uniforms during the scheduled percussion rehearsal times if desired.

*Color Guard costumes will be discussed at rehearsal.

*All brass, woodwind, and percussion students need to provide their own black socks and black marching shoes. Black marching band gloves will be required for certain instrument sections. (Shoes and gloves can be purchased from Ellsworth Music or similar retailer.)

*Students will need a band shirt (provided) and long khaki pants for the parade performance on Aug 18 (pit percussion does not participate in this performance).

BAND CAMP

All students are required to attend Band Camp from Sunday, July 22nd through Friday, July 27th. We will be staying at Camp Frame in Hedgesville for camp. Parent volunteers are needed. More information coming soon!
