Here you will find information, ideas, instructions, best practices, and answers to many of your questions. By following the rules, instructions and suggestions on this site, you will qualify for participation in the Jefferson High School Science Fair. Winning projects at the school fair will have the opportunity to compete in the Jefferson County Science Fair, the RESA VIII Regional Science Fair, the West Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair, and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

RESA 8 Regional Senior Science Fair (High Schools)

  • Date: Tuesday, March 13, 2018
  • Snow Date: Thursday, March 15, 2018
  • Location: Potomac State College of WVU, Keyser
  • Application Deadline: February 23, 2018
  • Eligibility: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place county high school science fair winners in each category from Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Mineral, Morgan, Pendleton, and the WV Schools for the Deaf and the Blind are eligible to participate.

RESA 8 Regional Junior Science Fair (Middle Schools)

  • Date: Tuesday, March 20, 2017
  • Snow Date: Thursday, March 22, 2017
  • Location: TBD
  • Eligibility: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place county middle school science fair winners in each category from Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Mineral, Morgan, Pendleton, and the WV Schools for the Deaf and the Blind are eligible to participate.

West Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair

  • Date: Saturday, April 7, 2018
  • Application Deadline: March 21, 2018
  • Location: Fairmont State University
  • Eligibility: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category from West Virginia county high school science fairs are eligible to participate.

Intel ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair)

  • Date: May 13 - May 18, 2018
  • Location: Pittsburgh, PA
  • Eligibility for local students: 1st and 2nd place overall from the RESA 8 High School Regional Science Fair and 1st and 2nd place overall from the West Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair.
